BIOGRAPHY

Commandant John Ledingham competed in the individual and team showjumping at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, riding Kilcoltrim, as part of the first all-professional Irish showjumping team.

Ledingham started riding when he was six years old and went on to attend the Army Equitation School following his cadetship.

Ledingham’s career continued with considerable distinction after Seoul, and he went on to become one of the most celebrated Irish showjumpers of his era. He attended four further Olympic Games, one as equestrian team manager and three as coach for modern pentathlon.
