BIOGRAPHY
Adam Leavy represented Ireland in Rugby Sevens at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where Ireland finished 10th.
Leavy joined the Ireland Sevens programme in 2017, making his debut at the Exeter leg of the Rugby Europe Sevens Grand Prix Series. He was part of the squad that secured Ireland’s place at Tokyo 2020 by winning the Olympic qualifier in Monaco in June 2021.
A product of St Michael’s College Dublin and the Connacht Rugby academy, Leavy also played for Lansdowne in the All-Ireland League before committing fully to the sevens programme. He is the younger brother of Leinster and Ireland flanker Dan Leavy, with the pair having won the Leinster Schools Senior Cup together at St Michael’s. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Leavy used a break from rugby to complete a Masters in Finance at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. He retired from rugby after Tokyo 2020 to pursue a career in finance.
