BIOGRAPHY

Stephen Cullen competed in the men’s 200 metres freestyle, 100 metres backstroke and 200 metres backstroke at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games. In the 200 metres backstroke he finished 27th – his best result of the three events.

He created a piece of Irish Olympic history by becoming the first Irish swimmer ever to win an Olympic swimming heat – winning the second heat of his event.
