BIOGRAPHY

Harry McNulty represented Ireland in Rugby Sevens at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games, captaining the side in Paris where Ireland finished sixth, their best result at an Olympic Games. Ireland finished 10th in Tokyo.

McNulty grew up in Bahrain, London and New York before returning to Ireland at age 14 to attend Rockwell College in Co. Tipperary, where he first played rugby. He was one of the founding members of the Ireland Sevens programme, participating in its first competitive outing in Bosnia in 2015. He retired after Paris 2024 as Ireland’s most-capped men’s Sevens player, with 181 World Series appearances.

During his career he also won bronze at the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town and helped Ireland finish second in the SVNS Series standings in 2023/24. A graduate of UCD with a degree in Food Technology, McNulty has also played club rugby for UCD, Garryowen and Old Belvedere. His younger brother Sean also played professional rugby.
