BIOGRAPHY

Annalise Murphy is an Olympic silver medalist and three time Olympian.

Born in Dublin, Murphy comes from a strong sailing background and is the daughter of Cathy MacAleavey who represented Ireland in the 470 class at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

Murphy finished 4th in the London 2012 Olympics, establishing herself among the world’s top competitors.

Four years later came her career highlight – a silver medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics, which came in a tightly contested race.

She made her third Olympic appearance at Tokyo 2020, finishing in 18th place.

Murphy has won a European Championship title and has multiple medals on the World Cup circuit.
