BIOGRAPHY
Johnny McKee represented Ireland in the men’s hockey tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
A forward from Newry, Co. Down, McKee made his senior international debut in 2015 and had scored 43 goals in over 100 caps for Ireland by the time of the Games. He plays club hockey for Banbridge HC, with whom he has won three Irish Leagues and three Irish Senior Cups, and has also played professionally in Germany’s Bundesliga with Crefelder. He contributed to Ireland winning EuroHockey Championship II gold in Dublin in 2023, Nations Cup silver in 2022, and EuroHockey Championship II bronze in 2021.
Paris was his first Olympic Games after Ireland narrowly missed qualification for Tokyo, losing a shoot-out to Canada in Vancouver. He works as a banker. His younger sister Katie also plays international hockey for Ireland.
