BIOGRAPHY

Tim Cross represented Ireland in the men’s hockey tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where Ireland.

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Cross began his career at Greensborough HC before earning eight caps for Australia in 2015 and 2016, including at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and the Trans-Tasman Trophy. He subsequently moved to Europe, playing in the Netherlands’ top-flight Hoofdklasse league with Tilburg. After switching allegiance to Ireland – a decision that required a mandatory three-year international absence – he made his Irish debut in 2019 against Scotland and relocated to Belfast to play for Annadale, before moving to London in 2023 where he joined Hampstead and Westminster HC. He had accumulated 69 caps for Ireland by the time of the Paris Games.

He was part of the squad that narrowly missed qualification for Tokyo and won bronze at the 2021 EuroHockey Championship II. He qualifies for Ireland through Irish heritage and works as a PE and Nutrition teacher in London.
